Council Meeting Agendas & Minutes

As the legislative branch of the City of Memphis government, the Council holds open public meetings where local laws, policies, and basic decisions for the city are discussed and decided. Council members are elected at large.

Notice for all public meetings, along with agendas, are posted in advance of the meeting. Minutes are posted after approval.

The City Council meets the second Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Room at City Hall. The agenda is posted 3 business days before the date of the meeting in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551.

On April 29, 2026, the City of Memphis created a YouTube Channel to upload recorded Council Meetings. Please check the link at the bottom of this screen to find recorded meetings. (As of 3:00 p.m. on May 11, 2026, there are no meetings that have been recorded to upload.)
